Daniel Negreanu vs. Sam Trickett with Pocket Aces at the World Series of Poker $1,000,000 Big One For One Drop!
When DNegs started talking on the river, you could see in Trickett's eyes as his heart hit the floor
Thinking this was even close to a slowroll never even crossed my mind. Daniel did not have the nuts. The way the hand played out, he still could have been beaten. And losing this hand would cripple him. Going through possibilities in your head is smart, not slowrolling
To the people saying this was a slow roll, the buy in was 1 million, even for someone like Daniel this is still a decent amount to lose. I don’t understand how thinking out loud and taking a minute at most is considered “slow rolling”, there’s a world tricket had the nuts on the turn however the story didn’t check out. Negreanu has had a history of being out of line every now and then but in my opinion this is definitely not one of them. EDIT: I was not expecting this comment to get the traction it did, nor the argument in the comments. At the end of the day there will always be people who disagree, I just feel that if you had a substantial amount at stake most people would have to think for a second just to double check. Negreanu is also widely known for his table antics and his talk at the table, and usually gets info that way, should he have called sooner is up to how you play poker, I just know that if you don't think take a second to think you may end up regretting it
